I was a fifth generation Illinois farmer who met a pretty girl that not only loved me but the farm also. Initially we raised corn, soybeans and kids. The kids grew up and farmed with us. (same tractor, same kids, pictured 19 years later) As the kids grew, so did our concern about all the chemicals and GMOs conventional farms were using. We began looking back at how grandpa had farmed when he was young, without chemicals, using a variety of old, good tasting crops. Which meant using farming methods that grandpa used. (Grandpa's brother, cultivating corn in 1917.) Though we do use somewhat newer equipment. (My son teaching his sister to cultivate a century later, in 2018, with a 1972 tractor) Thus, using heirloom varieties, grown organically without modern chemicals or GMOs, handled and processed using old techniques (such as stone milling), we are creating products similar to what were sold hundreds of years ago. All done on our small organic family farm in Grundy county Illinois.
